Frequently Asked Questions
How many countries are in the game?
Flagira includes over 190 countries and territories, spanning every continent from small island nations to the largest countries by area.
How is the flag crop chosen?
Each round picks a random position on the flag to zoom into, so you might see a corner, a stripe, or a symbol rather than the whole design. The crop is fixed for that round — it doesn't move or reveal more as you guess.
What happens if I run out of time?
On Medium and Hard difficulty, if the timer runs out before you guess correctly, the round ends automatically, the full flag is revealed, and you move to the next round with no points for that one. Easy mode has no timer at all.
What's the difference between the regular game and the Daily Challenge?
The regular game picks a random flag each round and lets you choose how many rounds (5 or 10) and how hard. The Daily Challenge is a single, fixed flag that's the same for every player on a given day, with up to 6 guesses — similar to daily word-guessing games. It resets once every 24 hours.
Can I play the Daily Challenge more than once a day?
No — once you solve it or run out of guesses, that day's result is saved in your browser and the challenge won't reset until the next day.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Flagira has no sign-up or login. Your theme preference and daily challenge progress are stored locally in your browser only.
Can I share my score?
Yes — after finishing a game or the Daily Challenge, a Share button generates a short emoji summary of your result that you can paste anywhere.
Where do the flag images come from?
Flag images are served by flagcdn.com, a free, community-maintained flag image CDN. Flagira doesn't host or modify the flag images itself.
Why does the crop stay in the same position during a round?
The zoomed-in crop is chosen once per round and stays fixed while you guess, so every guess you make is compared against the exact same view of the flag. It only changes when a new round starts.
Does the game work on mobile?
Yes — Flagira is built to work in any modern mobile or desktop browser, with the same rounds, hints, and sharing features on every device.
